Vaqueros Vanquished

My perenially snakebitten football franchise (AZ Cardinals) pulled off a stunning victory on Sunday.

They beat the overhyped, overrated Dallas Cowboys. They overcame 2 overturned touchdowns (someone explain to me the tuck rule again), a terrible offsides call, and losing the coin toss at the start of overtime to win 30-24.

The defense broke Tony 'I spent 2 hours before the came eating KFC and that is why I cannot hold onto the ball' Romo's pinkie finger at the end of game, forced a 3 and out and then blocked a punt into the endzone for the win.

Fantastic! I loved it. It is the most excited I have been since their playoff game in 1998 when Jake the Snake Plummer beat these same Cowboys. For all of you NFL fans, the Cardinals have won a playoff game more recently than the Cowgirls (98 vs. 96). How about them apples? Just because you are the team on 'Hard Knocks' does not mean that you are going to the superbowl.

The best part of the victory, you ask? The best part was watching the faces of all of the Cowboys fans with their blue jerseys and their looks of disbelief. America's team? Not hardly. Try 'El Equipo Mexicano'. Time to get on board people, we are talking about a home playoff game!
